The Easy Web Design Process. (SEO is also similar)

This is a guide to how we work with you from the first contact through to the finished product and beyond. In most instances it follows this process but along the way things might venture a bit to the left then a bit to the right.

Step 1 - Listening, learning & asking questions.

Everyone who contacts us has made a fairly strong decision that they want to have a decent website that works for their customers and their business.

So we don't focus on a sales pitch, we just try to better understand what you're expecting, what your business does, what your customers expect, who are they and what sort of style you might want to adopt.

We also cover how much of the words and images you have, whether you will be wanting to update any of the site yourself once its built and what additional services you might be considering.

Step 2 - Thinking time.

We go away and have a think and a chat amongst ourselves.

Step 3 - Getting in the detail.

We come back to you with a proposal that outlines the time frames and the likely cost. We then ask some more questions and firm up things in our mind and add, modify or remove things from the plan. We also bring a few preliminary design ideas along for you to look at. Once the design direction and the details of the site have been agreed to, we will ask you for a deposit of 50%. We then go away and begin building the website.

Step 4 - The first check in. (50% complete)

Once we get to a certain point in the design and build, we will be showing you our progress and asking for feedback. We will also then require you to begin sourcing the information for the site i.e. wording and images. (We can write for you and also source images - this will be an additional charge formulated at the beginning). We then go away and finish building the site.

Step 4 - The second check in. (90% complete)

We now have the site design completed and require you to go over the website to ensure it meets your expectations. Once this is confirmed we finish up the details like basic search engine optimisation, hosting, email creation and complete functional testing to name a few.

Step 5 - The final check in. (100% complete)

Now we ask for the balance of payment before sending the site into the hosting environment where it will be there for all to see.

Step 6 - The handshake.

After a job well done by all, we shake hands and get on our way. We don't practice the dump and run move, so we will be checking in regularly to ensure all is OK. If you have taken up the monthly retainer option, we will of course be in touch regularly for content changes and maintenance.

The amount of time will change dependant on your needs, the services you sign up for, you preparation and your understanding of your needs.
